The Testing and Numerical Simulation of the Heat Transfer Performance of Spiral Finned Tube Heat Exchangers

In this study, a new finned tube heat transfer model was developed using CFD software to simulate the heat transfer process of a finned tube bundle in a piping system. By comparing experimental results with simulation data, the errors in the heat transfer factor and resistance factor for the finned tube bundle were found to be 8.7 % and 6.34 %, respectively, demonstrating the accuracy of the model. Based on this, an orthogonal experimental method was used to investigate the effects of three factors-fin pitch, transverse spacing, and fin thickness-on the heat transfer performance of the finned tube bundle under different structural configurations. The results show that the optimized finned tube bundle achieves an $\mathbf{8. 8 4 \%}$ improvement in heat transfer performance compared to the original structure. The findings of this study provide a reference for optimizing finned tube bundles in similar environments.
