Ensuring the Security and Privacy of Healthcare IoT Data: A System for the Safe Administration of Patient Records

The implementation of real-time monitoring and data-driven insights has completely transformed patient care, thanks to the widespread use of the Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare. Nevertheless, it has also brought up serious worries over the confidentiality and safety of patients' personal information. This study details a thorough system that addresses the privacy and security issues that come with dealing with patient records in order to guarantee the secure management of healthcare IoT data. Advanced encryption algorithms, secure data transmission methods, and access control mechanisms customised to the special demands of healthcare IoT contexts are all part of the proposed system. Protecting patient data from cyber threats and unauthorised access is easier with a layered architecture that goes all the way from the Internet of Things (IoT) devices and networks to the application layer. Furthermore, the system is adaptable to different legal frameworks because it incorporates privacy-preserving approaches to meet regulatory criteria like GDPR and HIPAA. Our simulation and testing results show that this system successfully lowers vulnerability risks, protects against common assaults, and minimises data disclosure concerns. This research provides a scalable approach to improve the privacy and security of healthcare IoT data, which in turn promotes confidence among patients and supports safe and reliable digital healthcare practices.
