Sustainable Circuit Design of Energy Efficient 16 bit Counter using Adiabatic Logic

This project focuses on developing a 16-bit counter utilizing adiabatic logic to decrease power dissipation in digital circuits. Conventional CMOS logic suffers from considerable energy loss due to sudden voltage fluctuations during switching, resulting in high power usage and heat production. Adiabatic logic mitigates this issue by recycling energy through the gradual charging and discharging of circuit nodes, which lowers energy dissipation and improves efficiency. The 16-bit counter, an essential element in applications such as timers and event counters, is implemented and assessed against traditional CMOS designs in terms of power efficiency, speed, and complexity. The findings highlight the potential of adiabatic logic in fostering sustainable, energy-efficient electronic devices.
