Isolated Bidirectional Single-Input Multiple-Output Converter for Peer-to-Peer Wireless Power Transfer

In this paper, a new isolated bidirectional single-input multiple-output (SIMO) converter, which enables both directions of power conversion between one DC port and multiple AC ports, is proposed. In the DC-AC power conversion, a single DC voltage source is converted into multiple independent AC voltage outputs simultaneously. In the AC-DC power conversion, one or more AC voltage inputs can be converted into a common DC voltage output. Compared with prior arts, the proposed converter achieves 1) electrical isolation between the input and output power stages, 2) bidirectional power conversion capability, and 3) a simplified structure. This topology works for safe and stable peer-to-peer wireless power transfer (P2P-WPT) applications between portable devices. An isolated bidirectional single-input three-output (SITO) converter is verified by simulation.
