A Single-Stage Bidirectional AC–DC Converter-Based Vehicle-To-Grid Wireless Power Transfer System With Dual LCL Compensation

This paper proposes a single-stage bidirectional AC–DC converter-based wireless power transfer (WPT) system with dual LCL (D-LCL) compensation. The design enhances efficiency, reduces size, and lowers costs by eliminating large DC-link capacitors. The D-LCL compensation ensures zero-phase-angle (ZPA) operation and constant current output for optimal power transfer. Simulation results show high efficiency in both grid-to-vehicle (G2V) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) modes, reaching efficiency of 99.73% and 99.47% under the ideal condition, respectively. An preliminary-stage prototype is developed to experimentally validate the feasibility of the proposed WPT system, whereby effectiveness and potential as a promising solution for future residential EV charging systems are verified.
