Joint Operation Modle for the Electric Energy-Ancillary Services Market Considering Flexible Resource Ramping Capability

In order to stimulate the regulation potential of distributed generation, new types of loads, and other flexible resources, this paper proposes a joint operation modle for the electric energy-ancillary services market considering flexible resource ramping capability. Firstly, the probability distribution models of wind curtailment and load shedding are established to quantify the demand of flexible resource ramping capacity. Based on different models of flexible resource ramping capability, market bids for flexible ramping ancillary services are calculated. A two-stage joint operation model of electricity and flexible ramping ancillary service is established by adopting the opportunity cost compensation mechanism. Simulation results show that the two-stage joint operation model proposed in this paper can stimulate the flexible resource ramping capability and improve the overall economy and flexibility of the system.
