Online Identification of Parameters and Electromagnetic Torque for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors Based on Energy Analysis

Most control strategies for permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) require the parameters of the motor, such as stator resistance, inductance and electromagnetic torque. In order to improve the effect of the existing identification strategy, this paper proposes an online identification algorithm of the parameters and electromagnetic torque for PMSM based on the essence of electromechanical energy conversion. In this method, by analyzing and calculating various energies inside the motor, a set of energy equations containing various parameters of the motor is constructed. Using the established energy equations, precise solutions for inductance, equivalent resistance, and electromagnetic torque can be obtained.
