Closed-Loop Control of a Novel Modular Multilevel DC-DC Converter for EV Charging Station

This paper proposes a novel modular multi-port multi-level DC-DC converter and presents a closed-loop control strategy. To this end, a dual-loop proportional-integral (PI) controller is utilized to control the output voltages and currents. Moreover, a power decoupling method is employed to eliminate the coupling effect of the multi-winding transformer. Accordingly, any changes in one output do not affect the other outputs. Furthermore, an algorithm is applied to balance the capacitor voltage of each submodule. Subsequently, the proposed method is simulated by MATLAB Simulink, and the simulation results verify the performance of the proposed method.
