A Linear Position Correction Method for Inductive Displacement Sensor in Inter-Segment Movement

This paper proposes a planar inductive displacement sensor featuring coil pair wound on a printed circuit board (PCB) and the special working condition of inter-segment movement is studied through the finite element analysis (FEA). A linear position correction method is proposed and the results demonstrate that the error arising from the periodic variations in mutual inductance between the excitation coil and the receiver coil pair is effectively reduced.
