Development of an Automated Rubik's Cube Solver Using Arduino UNO and CubeX Integration

In this study, we present a user-friendly Rubik's Cube solver that employs an Arduino UNO to offer a practical and efficient solution to the iconic puzzle. The Rubik’s Cube has long captivated enthusiasts and competitors striving to achieve rapid solutions. Technological advancements have dramatically decreased the time required to solve the Rubik’s Cube, heralding an era of exceptional efficiency and innovation. Our approach leverages the CubeX Android app, developed by Divins Mathew, which scans the cube's scrambled state and generates an optimized algorithm for solving it. This algorithm is then transmitted to the Arduino UNO via the Serial Monitor interface. The Arduino UNO processes the algorithm and generates signals to control six stepper motors through the A4988 stepper motor driver, precisely manipulating the cube to reach its solved state. This project demonstrates the integration of software and hardware to achieve a high level of automation in solving the Rubik’s Cube. The development environment used for this project is the Arduino IDE, which facilitated the programming and control of the hardware components. Our Rubik's Cube solver exemplifies how combining algorithmic optimization with robotic control can result in a highly effective solution to a complex problem.
