Strict Solution for Calculating Electromagnetic Field Near Enclosed Slotline Using Green's Functions

This paper is devoted to the study of the electromagnetic field near an enclosed transmission line. A slotline placed inside a rectangular waveguide was chosen as the transmission line. A method for calculating components of the magnetic field in the zone above the slotline based on the solution of the wave equations using dyadic Green's functions and transverse resonance method is presented. The method presented in this paper provides a strict solution not only for the magnetic field components, but also for the electric field components, and can be applied for other zones of the structure. As a result of this work field patterns for tangential components of the magnetic field at different widths of the slotline were obtained. The obtained results do not contradict the theory and can be confirmed with commercially available electromagnetic modeling software. The results can be used in solving problems of determining the field variation in the transmission line, as well as in calculating the design of transition structures.
