Distributed AI-Based Secure Communications in Space-Air-Ground-Sea Integrated Networks

The space-air-ground-sea integrated networks (SAGSIN), enhanced by distributed artificial intelligence (AI), have been proposed to meet the dynamic and complex demands of future 6G networks. SAGSIN is a comprehensive and multi-layered communication network that consists of four key segments: space, air, ground, and sea. Compared to traditional networks, the unique characteristics of SAGSIN, along with the deep integration of distributed AI, enable it to provide various global services, including communications, computing, and sensing, by leveraging multi-dimensional resources. However, it also presents significant security challenges. Despite the growing attention to SAGSIN, there has been limited research focusing on the security aspects of distributed AI-enabled SAGSIN. This article aims to review the security issues of intelligent SAGSIN from three perspectives: communications, computing, and sensing. Specifically, we discuss the related security challenges and highlight the existing research in this area. Moreover, we propose an intelligent location privacy algorithm. Overall, this article provides a comprehensive overview of the motivations, challenges, and proposed solutions related to security in distributed AI-enabled SAGSIN, with a particular emphasis on communications, computing, and sensing.
