Standardization activities of IEC/CISPR 37 on in situ measurement method for system EMC

In 2018, IEC/CISPR/SCB (International Special Committee on Radio Interference, Subcommittee B) started to formulate a new standard (CISPR37) to specify in-situ testing methods for radiated disturbances from large or large power equipment, which are difficult to measure in conventional test stations such as semi anechoic chambers (SAC). The 2nd CD (Committee draft) document was formulated by 2024. In July 2023, a joint working group (JWG) was newly established by CISPR/SCA, SCB, and SCH, and the project was started to standardize the guidance to be used as a technical report (TR) by installers to quickly check radiated disturbances after system installation. This paper describes the trends of international standardization deliberations on the in-situ testing methods for System EMC and the performance evaluation of measurement site proposed in CISPR37.
