Logic Design and Simulation of Game using CAD Tools

Tic-Tac-Toe is a simple two player game that dates back to the 18^th century. Traditionally, it is played using a pen and a paper. This paper proposes the logic design of the tic-tac-toe game. The paper's originality lies in its creative use of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools and logic design principles to simulate and produce a working digital game. This paper offers a hardware-centric approach to game design by showing how digital logic circuits can be carefully constructed to implement game mechanics, in contrast to standard game creation methods that frequently rely on high- level programming. In addition, it also revolves around the simulation of the design developed so as to convert the design into an ASIC. The logic is drafted using basic logic elements such as logic gates and memory elements such as flipflops. Simulation helps in validating the logic drafted, thus providing an opportunity to rectify or improve the design to optimize in terms of area, power or time consumed. The tool used to perform the simulation was Xilinx ISE version 12.2. The design drafted is further developed into a model by employing logic ICs and cables.
