A Schmitt Trigger Circuit with Improved Electrostatic Discharge Protection

This paper proposes a Schmitt trigger circuit with enhanced Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection. The newly designed circuit uses only four transistors and one resistor to achieve the improved Schmitt trigger. The design particularly considers the parasitic effects of the transistors. This circuit retains the basic functionality of a Schmitt trigger while incorporating ESD protection. The design is validated using ORCAD simulations. The results align well with theoretical expectations.
