Experimental evaluation of Transformer-Type AANs Specified by Figure G.3 in CISPR 32 for Conducted Emissions due to Conversion from Differential Mode to Common Mode

According to CISPR 32, the voltage limits of conducted emissions on wired network ports are equal to the current limits multiplied by the common mode impedance 150 Ω, which is the sum of the impedances of the asymmetric artificial network (AAN), receiver, and equipment under test (EUT). However, the voltage/current conversion factor due to conversion from differential mode to common mode of AANs varies depending on the common mode impedance of the EUT. This paper focuses on the validation of voltage/current conversion factors in specially modified transformer-type Asymmetric Artificial Networks (AANs) for 8-wire unscreened balanced pairs. The experimental results shows that how the voltage/current conversion factor of transformer-type AANs for 8-wire balanced pairs varies in proportion to the common mode impedance of the EUT by employing factory-modified AANs manufactured with precision.
