Simulation of mode conversion characteristics in twisted/untwisted pair cable placed near shielded power supply cable

Twisted pair cable is used in vehicles with transmission methods such as 1000Base-T1 adopted. The radiated electric field of these cables and their immunity to interference waves are significant issues. Therefore, based on these backgrounds, the effects of the adjacent conductors and the twist pitch on the characteristics of twisted pair cable are evaluated. In case of untwisted pair cable placed near the shielded power supply cable, the mode conversion increased by 80 dB compared to the case without an adjacent cable. In case of twisted pair cable placed near the shielded power supply cable, the mode conversion decreased by 50 dB compared to the case with untwisted pair cable.
