Realistic Snow Simulation Framework: Integration of Multi-Factor Precise Calculation and UE Optimization

In virtual scene simulation, the generation of snow scenery is crucial, as it not only enhances the realism of the environment but also adds dynamic variation to the scene. This paper proposes a snow generation framework that simulates the deposition of snowflakes on various surfaces through a snow depth calculation method. This method involves precise calculations of factors such as snowflake size, shape, density, wind speed, and direction to ensure a natural and realistic appearance of the accumulated snow. Additionally, by calculating the gravity and motion direction of snow particles, the model simulates the trajectories and deposition processes of falling snow particles in the air, thereby accurately predicting the distribution and morphology of the accumulated snow. Furthermore, the integration of the UE diffuse reflection method optimizes the overall ice and snow effects, ensuring optimal visual outcomes on different materials such as vegetation, rocks, walls, pure snow surfaces, and ice surfaces. Experimental results indicate that this simulation method effectively recreates snow scenes, bringing a vivid winter atmosphere to the virtual world.
