Welding Simulation and Process Parameter Optimization of U-Rib Fillet Weld Based on Genetic Algorithm

In actual production, the welding process parameters of U rib plate are mostly determined by manual experience, which leads to unstable welding quality and low welding efficiency of U rib plate. In this paper, the single-sided double-pass welding of U-rib fillet weld is taken as the research object. The heat source simulation analysis is carried out by ABAQUS Unified FEA to solve the temperature of U-rib weld pool under different welding process parameters, and the mathematical analysis model between weld pool temperature and welding current, voltage and welding torch moving speed is fitted by MATLAB. Taking the molten pool temperature and welding efficiency as the optimization objectives, the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the mathematical model, and the optimized welding process parameters are obtained. The experimental results show that the optimized welding process parameters effectively ensure that the molten pool temperature is within the target temperature range, improve the welding efficiency and welding quality, and provide a reference for the selection of U-rib welding process parameters.
