Intra Frame Angle Mode Decision-Making Based on Texture Information

Aiming at the complexity of VVC intra mode decision, an intra mode decision algorithm based on image texture information is proposed. Firstly, a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the proportion of the optimal mode in the VVC frame is carried out. In the angle mode decision-making process, the gradient mean value is innovatively introduced as the basis for preliminary screening, and the matching intra mode search direction is selected. This strategy not only makes full use of the local features of the image, but also reduces the number of pattern searches in the rate distortion optimization process by using an improved search algorithm. This algorithm saved 27.50^% of encoding time, while BDBR only increased by 0.50%.
