Simulation and Analysis of Short-Circuit Fault in DC Regional Power Grid with Energy Storage Systems

This study focuses on the DC regional power grid containing energy storage devices, and performs a detailed analysis of the short-circuit fault characteristics at the DC terminal. Based on the characteristics of DC regional power grid, the simulation model is built by using MATLAB / Simulink platform, and the system response under the condition of pole to ground fault and positive-negative pole short is simulated. Through simulation, the transient behavior of electrical quantities at the outlet of high-power grid-scale energy storage units in DC grid is obtained, and the key electrical characteristics when the fault occurs are revealed. The findings establish a critical theoretical foundation and offer actionable technical guidance for the subsequent design of targeted fault protection schemes.
