On the Synergy between Flexible Ethernet and Point-to-multipoint Optical Networks

We present the first comparative study on the synergistic benefits between flexible Ethernet and point-to-multipoint optical networks. Simulations confirm that by combining the two techniques adaptively, service provisioning can be achieved with significantly higher cost-effectiveness.
