Monolithically Integrated Ultra-dense Polarization Insensitive 8x8 InP Switch for Optical Networks

For the first time, we experimentally demonstrated an ultra-dense polarization-insensitive C-band $8 \times 8$ broadcast&select switch based on bulk SOAs. Results show broadband net-gain, low PDG $\lt 2 \mathrm{~dB}$, error-free operation with $\lt 0.2 \mathrm{~dB}$ power-penalty at 30 Gbps NRZ-modulated signal in Cband.
