Synthetic Aperture Radar for Automated Guided Carts

This paper proposes a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) concept for the use in Autonomous Guided Carts (AGCs). It aims at low speed and short range operation in a side-looking configuration on mobile platforms. For miniaturization purposes, a single-input-single-output (SISO) frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar system with 60 GHz transmit frequency is used. The proposed method is capable of producing sufficiently resolved images in both free space and highly cluttered conditions.
