A Multi-Load Capacitive Power Transfer System Using Class-E Inverter

This paper proposes a capacitive power transfer (CPT) system to supply power to multiple loads, which uses a Class-E inverter as the power transmission unit. The proposed system has a relay unit consisting of compensating inductors, a compensating capacitor, and two CPT coupling units to provide a constant voltage (CV) output to multiple loads simultaneously. In addition, ZVS is achieved by using a Class-E inverter to reduce switching losses. Simulation and circuit experiments were performed. From the results of the experiment, the measured total output power of two loads was 0.40 W with the power conversion efficiency of 86.8% at frequency of 1 MHz.
