Multimodal Multiobjective Optimization in the Charging Station Site Selection

In the charging station site selection, the number of charging stations and the user satisfaction are two objectives that need to be optimized together. However, few studies have focused on which sites are chosen. In the optimization problem of charging station site selection, different construction schemes can still achieve similar levels of user satisfaction when the number of stations is the same. These charging station site selection optimization problems belong to multimodal multiobjective optimization (MMO) problems. This paper provides a detailed description of the site selection optimization problem in MMO. Subsequently, the significance and importance of find different construction plans are discussed. In this paper, the initialization process and crowding distance calculation of two algorithms are improved to solve the problem of charging station site selection in MMO. The results of simulation experiments show that these algorithms can find more subsets than unimodal optimization algorithms.
