Design and Testing of Circular Patch Antenna at 2.45GHz for Wireless Power Transfer Applications with DGS

This paper presents the design and analysis of a circular patch antenna for wireless communication and power transfer at 2.45 GHz. The antenna uses an FR4 substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4 and employs an inset feed for better impedance matching. Simulations in HFSS showed a return loss (S11) of -14.77 dB, a gain of 3.20 dB, and a bandwidth of 50MHz. Experimental results closely matched the simulations, proving its reliability. This cost-effective antenna is suitable for IoT, wireless power transfer, and energy harvesting, offering efficient and compact performance for modern wireless systems.
