Protecting Electronic Health Record Transmission by the Implementation of Patient-Oriented Accessibility-Management in a Blockchain-based E-Health Cloud

Online and "Block-Chain (BC)" technology advancements are opening up fresh paths of profit for businesses and organizations. The risk of cyberattacks, subsequently, is increased by these developments. The hackers' focus in recent times has shifted to "Electronic Health Records (EHRs)" and bank account information. Intending to disrupt company operations as a whole, the hackers make use of an extensive range of tactics. A safe and robust method for managing cyber-attacks is recommended by several healthcare bodies. The current, conventional "Access-Control Policy (ACP)" keeps the authority to access the framework centrally. Every request for accessibility in those platforms is routed through a single point of control. Apart from being ineffective in providing dynamic privileges in a networked BC context, this method has several other downsides, especially a one-point failure. To control the allocation of resources to users, this research proposes a "Patient-Oriented Accessibility-Management (POAM)" framework for an "E-Health Cloud (EHC)" Platform formed in the BC environment. Within the EHC system, "Health-Service Providers (HSPs)" are defined as a group within the suggested POAM architecture, which automates the process of exchanging EHRs. The BC participants' transmission and accessibility rights are defined by the ACPs according to the suggested POAM framework. Another feature that the POAM framework offers is the ability for "Data-Owners (DOs)" to limit accessibility to users by revoking previously given permission. Using this method, data exchange with several HSPs can be completely automated and set up with no intermediaries, allowing for smooth access. After comparing the proposed POAM framework with the existing BC-LS, and BC-HE frameworks utilizing the measurements of "Security Ratio," "Encryption Time," and "Decryption Time," the results demonstrate that the proposed POAM framework offers a higher level of security.
