A Key Node Analysis Method for Electromagnetic Space Combat System-of-systems Based on Network Sampling

In the context of highly developed modern information technology, the application of network science principles and methodologies to study Combat System of Systems (CSoS) has gradually gained popularity. In recent years, the use of the OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) loop theory for quantitative analysis and research on CSoS has become particularly prevalent. For instance, it enables the calculation and identification of key nodes within a CSoS. However, such classical methods face challenges, including high computational costs and limited interpretability. To address these issues, this paper proposes a key node analysis method for CSoS based on network sampling. By leveraging the concept of network sampling, the proposed method realizes the instantiation of weighted network models, transforming the commonly used weighted directed heterogeneous networks in CSoS modeling into unweighted networks. Quantitative calculations are then performed through multiple Monte Carlo experiments. This study applies the aforementioned method to the scenario of electromagnetic space operations, achieving quantitative computation of combat effectiveness and identification of key nodes within the CSoS. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms traditional approaches in terms of ranking accuracy and computational efficiency.
