Color Sorting Robotic Arm: CAD Modeling and Experimental Analysis

In a variety of industrial applications, such as manufacturing, material handling, and assembly, robotic arms are essential for increasing productivity, accuracy, and automation. The design and development of a colour-sorting robotic arm using servo motors and an Arduino Uno microprocessor are shown in this work. Using a colour sensor, the system recognizes items of various hues and then groups them into predetermined groups. Three servo motors are used by the robotic arm to move in unison, allowing for accurate object pick-and-place operations. The Arduino Uno performs high-accuracy sorting tasks by processing sensor data in real-time and managing the servo motors. Automating colour-based sorting operations, which are essential to sectors including electronics, food processing, and packaging, is demonstrated by the suggested system's versatility and dependability. Furthermore, the system increases efficiency, decreases errors, and minimizes human interaction by automating labour-intensive and repetitive procedures. The use of this colour-sorting robotic arm demonstrates its potential for implementation in a variety of industrial contexts by extending to dangerous areas where human intervention is impractical. The suggested approach helps modern enterprises implement automation technology more widely and is scalable and reasonably priced.
