Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator Based on Bifurcation Theory

With the continuous increase in the penetration of new energy sources, a significant number of permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs) are being integrated into power grids. However, improper parameter settings of PMSGs can result in chaotic behavior, potentially compromising system stability. To address this issue, this study proposes a stable region division method based on bifurcation theory to ensure the stable operation of PMSGs. Initially, a dynamic model of the PMSG was developed. Subsequently, the dynamic behavior of the PMSG was analyzed under variations in single, double, and triple parameters using bifurcation theory. A codimension-2 bifurcation diagram was utilized to visually represent the stable regions of the system, providing a strategic guide for operational stability. Finally, the proposed strategy's effectiveness and accuracy were validated through time-domain simulations, confirming its reliability in maintaining system stability under varying operational conditions. This approach offers a robust framework for enhancing the stability of PMSGs in power grids with high renewable energy penetration.
