Cutting-Edge Vision: Object Detection Mastery with YOLOv5

Real-time object detection is essential in various domains, demanding models that balance accuracy, speed, and efficiency. This study explores the deployment, optimization, and comparative evaluation of YOLOv5 for real-time object detection, focusing on dataset preparation, model fine-tuning, and performance assessment. A network of cameras acts as clients, capturing and transmitting images to a centralized server, where YOLOv5 performs detection and analysis. To benchmark its performance, this research compares YOLOv5 with Faster R-CNN, SSD, and RetinaNet, evaluating key metrics such as mean Average Precision (mAP) on COCO, inference speed (FPS), model size, and real-time suitability. The findings highlight YOLOv5's advantages in computational efficiency, detection speed, and deployment feasibility, demonstrating its applicability in security, retail, and autonomous systems.
