Research on Energy Storage Business Model and Optimized Operation Based on the Electricity Spot Market Environment

The new energy storage station can achieve bidirectional regulation and flexible charging and discharging, and its application scenarios cover multiple links of the power system, including the source, grid, and load. The gradual participation of energy storage in the electricity spot market has become a trend, and it is urgent to explore energy storage business models and operational strategies that are compatible with the spot market mechanism. According to market rules and development progress, this article analyzes the transition mode of peak shaving auxiliary services separately, the transition mode of fixed price arbitrage, and the electricity spot market mode. On this basis, an energy storage optimization operation model suitable for various business models is constructed and simulated using typical examples. The results demonstrate that the operational strategy proposed in this article for energy storage can significantly enhance its profitability in the electricity spot market and transitional business models.
