Open Numerical Equation Software Architecture Design for Power Systems

The development of new power systems has introduced numerous new issues and challenges in the field of power system computation. To meet the growing demands for openness and high performance in power system computations, this paper focuses on power flow calculation, short-circuit calculation and stability analysis. And an open numerical equation computation software architecture for power systems has been designed by combining with high-performance computing principles and open software design concepts. This architecture is capable of reading BPA data files and performing power system calculations based on Python and C++ hybrid programming techniques. The developed software architecture underwent comprehensive performance evaluation and optimization. The accuracy and effectiveness of software architecture are verified by power flow calculation examples on the IEEE 43-bus and IEEE 162-bus networks.
