Partial Discharge Localization Method for Uav Inspection Based on Uhf Detection

The deterioration of all kinds of power equipment, such as transmission lines, always threatens the safety of the power grid, and once it breaks out, it will cause a large area of power failure and other power accidents. In this paper, the problem of partial discharge detection of transmission lines is investigated. Based on the UHF detection method, an efficient and safe discharge location method with UAV inspection is designed. Firstly, based on the time difference of arrival (TDOA) technique, a discharge location method is proposed by rearranging the non-linear TDOA equation into a series of linear equations and transforming the location problem into a weighted least squares problem. To improve the positioning accuracy, an iterative correction algorithm based on good initial estimation for iterative error correction is also proposed. In addition, the weighted centroid method is introduced to compensate the error by assigning different weights to the estimation results of the iterative algorithm. The simulation results show that the algorithm can converge after three iterations and has high efficiency, and the introduction of the weighted centroid method further reduces the error.
