A mm-Wave Deca-band Two-Port MIMO Antenna with High Resonance at 28GHz (n257 & n261Bands)

A dual-slotted circular patch with partial ground is etched to radiate electromagnetic energy in the millimeter-wave band with an impedance bandwidth of 25.62GHz. The bandwidth ranges from 21.54GHz-47.16GHz. A 0.254mm thick Rogers RT/Duroid substrate is used to etch the proposed multiband antenna measuring 9.5×16.0mm². The substrate possesses a dielectric constant of 2.2 and 0.0009 of loss tangent (tan delta). The antenna covers ten mm-wave bands including 24/26/28/29/37/38/39/40/41GHz and a partial Q band from 42GHz to 47.16GHz. The scattering parameter is less than -10dB for all the bands with a minimum of -58dB at 28GHz.The extended two-port multiple input multiple output (MIMO) has all the diversity metrics (ECC, DG, TARC, CCL, MEG) within the acceptable value and isolation of more than 15dB making the proposed deca-band antenna applicable for 5G applications.
