Modern Control and Optimization Theory–Based Parameter Estimation Algorithms

This chapter introduces several popular modern control theory and optimization theory–based algorithms for parameter estimation, which can be classified as adaptive algorithm‐based, gradient‐based, and evolutionary algorithms. All mentioned methods are further applied to a current injection–based parameter estimation scheme for a PMSM in the MATLAB platform. The simulation results are also presented for illustrative purposes.
