PM4Fruit: A Scriptable Parametric Modeling Interface for Procedural Fruit Generation Using PM4VR

Procedural modeling offers flexibility and efficiency in generating complex 3D assets, with applications spanning game development, virtual reality, augmented reality, machine learning, and innovative education. Despite procedural modeling's extensive use in architectural and terrain modeling, its potential for detailed fruit generation in virtual reality remains underexplored. This paper presents PM4Fruit, a novel scriptable parametric modeling interface built upon the PM4VR framework, extended for creating high-fidelity procedural fruit models. By integrating scriptable interfaces, parametric controls, shape parametric functions, and VR platforms, PM4Fruit aims to assist researchers, artists, and educators in generating and refining fruit assets in virtual environments efficiently. We demonstrate PM4Fruit's versatility through a series of numerical experiments and preliminary user studies involving realistic fruit model generation and interactive refinement on SteamVR platform.
