Design and Implementation of a Unified Data Center for Vocational Colleges Based on the DAMA Data Knowledge Management System

The imperfect data management system of vocational colleges, the lack of unified standards for information construction and the dispersion of data resources have led to the problems of data silos and insufficient resource sharing. This paper designs a unified data center based on the DAMA (Data Management Association) data knowledge management system to break down data barriers and improve the efficiency of data integration and sharing. The data governance framework in the DAMA system is adopted to standardize the scattered data sources of various vocational colleges; a data warehouse is established in the unified data center, and the data modeling and ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) process in the DAMA system are used to extract, transform and load the original data, and appropriate access control and data permission management are set; based on the sharing framework of the DAMA system, a sharing platform for the unified data center of vocational colleges is designed and implemented. The design of the platform takes into account a variety of data interfaces and seamlessly connects with existing management systems and external platforms. The experimental results show that the average sharing rate of the DAMA data management system under different query types is about 0.92, and the average query success rate is about 0.89, reflecting its high data sharing degree; the error rate of the normalized data is between 0.01 and 0.04, and the data accuracy has been significantly improved.
