Enhancing Data Packet Transmission Capacity in Modified Heterogeneous Cellular Networks with Femtocells

With the rapid surge in cellular network subscribers, global network demands are escalating, necessitating the deployment of additional mobile cellular networks by multiple service providers. However, this expansion comes with increased costs, coverage challenges [5], and rising capacity requirements. In small-area networks, a primary concern is interference between coverage zones and networks, aproblem that is particularly prevalent in urban areas due to high population density and connectivityissues. To address these challenges, heterogeneous and modified homogeneous cellular networks have emerged as leading solutions. This study explores the development, comparison, and evaluation of Heterogeneous Cellular Networks (HTCN) [1] and Modified Homogeneous Cellular Networks (MHCN) by assessing network coverage, throughput, and capacity across various ranges and multiple nodes.
