Analysis of Induced Voltage of UHV DC Ground Wire Under Ice Melting Working

In recent years, with the impact of severe ice disasters, there has been a significant demand for ground wire defrosting on UHV DC lines. While the lines are on live, the induced voltage of the ground wire has an impact on the defrosting device. This article takes the segmented ice melting of the ground wire of the Binjin line as an example, carries out simulation and measurements of induced voltage under different wiring methods of the ground wire during ice melting work. The results show that when both ends of the ground wire in the ice melting section are connected and ungrounded, the maximum induced voltage can reach 78kV; When one end of the two ground wires is connected and the other end is open, the maximum induced voltage can reach 50kV; When the ground wire is connected and grounded, the induced voltage at both ends approaches zero. The simulation results have good consistency with the measured data, providing support for the safe implementation of ground wire ice melting in UHV DC lines.
