A Novel MSB Prediction-Based Method for Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images

In the digital age, secure image transmission is critical for the protection of privacy-sensitive data. Reversible data hiding (RDH) and standard encryption methods often struggle with balancing visual quality, embedding capacity, and encryption security. It presents a novel image encryption and RDH scheme that uses pseudo-random number generation and optimized embedding techniques. The proposed method enhances security by minimizing pixel correlation and uniformly distributing the histogram, making it resistant to statistical attacks. Experimental results on standard test Images like Lena, Goldhill, Airplane, and Peppers demonstrate how the suggested methodology outperforms current techniques with a PSNR of 41.50 dB. There are 0.46 BPP of embedding rate, ensuring optimal capacity with high visual quality. Additionally, the encrypted images demonstrate a near-zero pixel correlation, confirming the scheme's robustness. This work provides an efficient and secure digital communication solution for image encryption and watermarking.
