Software-Defined Radio-Based Simulation and Processing of GPS L1 Signals for LEO Satellites Navigation

The Global Positioning System (GPS) L1 signal is widely used for positioning, navigation, and timing applications. This paper explores the simulation and processing of GPS L1 signals using software-defined radio (SDR) technologies. GPS-SDR-SIM is employed to generate simulated GPS signals, which are transmitted via HackRF One and GNU Radio then received using the USRP-2974 platform. The received signals are processed using GNSS-SDR to extract navigation data and evaluate receiver performance. Experimental results validate the feasibility of using SDR-based receiver for low earth orbit (LEO) satellite navigation.
