Modelling AC Induction Motor Control Circuit Using Bond Graph Techniques

This paper presents the design and validation of a 3-phase inverter connected to an induction AC motor, which is integrated in a curtain control module. The circuit was modeled using bond graph techniques in the 20-sim software. The bond graph approach helps with the representation of the energy transfer processes within the system, validating an accurate simulation of the inverter circuit’s dynamics. The output voltages were analyzed to validate the performance of the designed inverter circuit. This process confirms the circuit’s ability to effectively manage the induction AC motor, maintaining the desired operational parameters. Furthermore, to enhance the circuit’s performance and minimize voltage loss, parameter sweeps were conducted. The sweeps involved variations of the circuit parameters to identify optimal conditions. The results from the parameter sweeps provided insights into the relationship between the various parameters and their impact on the inverter’s performance. This optimization process led to improvements, ensuring reduced voltage loss and overall efficiency of the curtain control module.
