Comprehensive Assessment Model of Light Pollution Levels Based on Entropy Weight Method and Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) Approach

Light pollution has become an increasingly prominent environmental issue in urban areas worldwide. This paper proposes a novel assessment model for light pollution levels that combines the Entropy Weight Method and the Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) approach. We identified key factors influencing light pollution and developed a quantitative evaluation system. The model was validated using remote sensing data and applied to four different types of regions. Additionally, we proposed and analyzed three intervention strategies to mitigate light pollution. The results demonstrate the model's effectiveness in accurately assessing light pollution levels, providing insights for policymakers and urban planners in addressing this environmental challenge.
