Design and Construction of a System for Dyeing 3D Printed PA12

This paper presents the design and development of a specialized system for dyeing 3D-printed Polyamide 12 (PA12) using the industrial mordant N-RIT-88150-BUN1. PA12, a biocompatible material widely used in biomedical applications, demands precise processing to ensure consistent coloration and performance. The system, termed the Controlled Mordant Dyeing System (CMDS), operates under rigorously controlled conditions-such as temperature and mordant concentrationto enhance dye adhesion and color stability. The primary objective is to establish reliable dyeing protocols for PA12 that leverage the standardized properties of mordant N-RIT-88150BUN1, offering reproducibility and uniformity for both biomedical and industrial applications. This work takes a step toward integrating sustainable practices in polymer dyeing, promoting renewable resources while maintaining material biocompatibility and functionality.
