Stem Education Framework: Learning Rubik's Cube Solving with Nao

This paper presents a case study on using the NAO humanoid robot to solve a $2 \times 2$ Rubik's Cube, integrating robotics, image processing, and artificial intelligence for educational purposes. The project involves the implementation of system architecture that enables the NAO robot to detect the cube's color configuration, process the data through a solving algorithm, and execute predefined movements to simulate solving the cube. Emphasizing STEM education, this work aims to provide an engaging and interactive learning experience, particularly for children aged $7-11$, by enhancing their logical reasoning and problem-solving skills through human-robot interaction. The study also explores inverse kinematics in a simulated context to improve movement planning and inform future development toward more precise and autonomous manipulation. The proposed framework demonstrates how robotics can be leveraged to create practical, educational tools that promote hands-on learning in computational thinking and robotics.
