Fast Clutter Simulation Method for Airborne Radar Based on Truncated SVD and CZT

In order to reduce the computational complexity of airborne radar clutter simulation, this article proposes a fast clutter simulation method for arbitrary array configurations through the synergistic integration of truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) and chirp z-transform (CZT) techniques. Building upon the traditional space-time 2-D clutter simulation framework, which is often computationally prohibitive, our method employs the number of degree-of-freedom (DOF) estimation theory for a band-limited signal to perform TSVD on the spatial steering vector matrix, enabling optimal dimensionality reduction. Subsequently, we implement CZT to accelerate the multiplication operation between clutter scatterer amplitudes and temporal steering vector matrix. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that this method can significantly speed up clutter simulation while possessing high accuracy.
