Assessment of the Fuel Effect When Incorporating Mini-CHPP Into the Energy Supply System

In the conditions of gasification of Russian regions and the availability of cogeneration technologies, there are grounds for including mini-CHPPs in the energy supply system of cities. The emergence of mini-CHPP's will increase the availability of electricity and thermal energy, subject to the maximization of beneficial use of associated heat energy. The efficiency of mini-CHPP can be judged by specific fuel consumption (SRFC), which is determined by distribution method, efficiency coefficient, and share of heat use. The study proposes a mathematical model that allows fuel distribution between two types of energy, based on the equivalence of fuel efficiency between heat sources: a cogenerating plant and boiler house. This approach eliminates the negative fuel effect in heat supply systems. The paper assesses the increase in specific fuel consumption for electricity production, depending on the share of beneficial use of heat. It was found that excluding thermal emissions allows reducing the SRFC according to a quadratic dependence. To improve the fuel efficiency of a gas piston unit, it is necessary to address issues related to eliminating thermal emissions.
