Temperature Monitoring System for Portable Incubators for Neonatal Care

Neonatal babies around the globe are saved by the wider spread of Portable Baby incubators. The simple design principle of these Portable Baby warmers or incubators with a sleeping bag and heat retention pouch has helped save many premature babies in critical conditions. While the babies absorb the temperature to keep them warm, there is a gap in measuring the temperature of both the babies and the warmers. Monitoring the temperatures of the pouch is still a challenge for the nursing staff. With babies prone to infections, contact thermometers are not recommended. The project aims to design an advanced temperature monitoring device for these portable baby incubators for better performance. The proposed system integrates accurate and reliable temperature sensors and alert system to ensure optimal thermal regulation for neonatal babies. By providing continuous monitoring and immediate notifications of temperature deviations, this solution seeks to empower caregivers with the tools necessary for timely intervention, thus reducing neonatal mortality and morbidity. The design also intended to be energy-efficient, user-friendly, and cost-effective, aligning with the core principles of Portable baby incubators. The need for constant monitoring by nursing staff can be minimized with these innovative products.
